This notice is given under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“the Act”) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (“the Rules”). It is written to be complete in itself, so that you can understand what happens to your personal data without needing to read any other page. International Journal Press is the Data Fiduciary — the organisation that decides why and how your personal data is processed. International Journal Press (ijpress and ijpress.com) is registered with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, under the registration number UDYAM-UP-50-0078080.
1.What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run a scholarly journal. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Identity and contact details — your name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, institutional affiliation, designation, country, ORCID iD, and any profile links you choose to give us.
- Account and login data — your username, email address, encrypted password, and the roles (author, reviewer, editor) you hold on each journal.
- Manuscript and review records — the texts, files, metadata and figures you submit or review, the authors you list, the review comments you write, and the editorial correspondence about them.
- Payment records — the fact that an Article Processing Charge was paid, the amount, the date, and the transaction reference. We never receive or store your card, UPI or bank credentials: those are entered on our payment partner Razorpay’s PCI-DSS-compliant systems.
- Website and device data — your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. Where you have accepted analytics cookies, this is collected through Google Analytics. If you decline, no analytics cookie is set.
- Correspondence — messages you send us, applications to join an editorial board or reviewer pool, and any grievance or rights request you raise.
2.Why we use it, and what it enables
Each item above is collected for a specific purpose. We do not use your data for anything else without asking you first.
- To consider and publish your manuscript — so that your submission can be checked, peer-reviewed, copy-edited, typeset, published, assigned a DOI, archived, and distributed to indexing services. This is the service you ask for when you submit; without these details we cannot publish your article. Article metadata that is published is public by design.
- To run peer review — so that editors can send your manuscript to reviewers and reviewers can return comments, with double-anonymous review maintained as described in the journal’s policy.
- To administer your account and roles — so that you can log in, track your submissions, and hold reviewer or editorial privileges.
- To take payment where an APC applies — during the launch period the APC is waived; where it applies, payment is collected through Razorpay after acceptance, and we keep only the payment record described above.
- To communicate with you — decision letters, proofs, certificates, reminders, and responses to your questions.
- To understand how the site is used — aggregate analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. This is not needed for the service; you may decline and still use the site fully.
- To keep the site secure and lawful — preventing fraud and abuse, maintaining logs, and meeting legal, tax and archival obligations.
3.Consent, and how to withdraw it
We rely on your consent given by a clear affirmative action, on the performance of our publishing agreement with you, on our legitimate interests in operating the journals securely, and on compliance with the law.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it. Use Manage cookies to withdraw analytics consent in one click — the same number of clicks it took to give it. For any other withdrawal, write to our Grievance Officer at the contact details in §6 and tell us what you are withdrawing. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and it does not remove the published Version of Record of an article already published — corrections and retractions instead follow COPE guidance.
4.Who we share it with
We share personal data only with processors who help us run the service, and only for the purposes above: Razorpay (payments), Hostinger (hosting and email), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), Google (analytics, only with your consent), and Crossref and indexing partners (published article metadata, which is public by design). We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
5.How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purposes above and to meet legal, tax and scholarly-archival obligations. Published article metadata and the Version of Record form part of the permanent scholarly record and are retained indefinitely; account and contact data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
6.Your rights, and who to contact
You have the right to access a summary of the personal data we process about you and the processing activities; to correct, complete or update it; to erase it, subject to our legal and archival obligations; to grievance redressal; and to nominate another person to exercise these rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
How to make a request. Write to our Grievance Officer at the contact details below. To let us identify you — and so that we do not disclose your data to someone else — please write from the email address registered on your account, or, if you do not have an account or no longer use that address, include your manuscript ID and, for authors, your payment reference. This is the identifier we hold for you under our terms of service.
Response times. We will respond to any data-protection grievance within 90 days, the maximum period permitted by the Rules. We aim to be considerably faster and will acknowledge your request on receipt.

8.Cookies on this site
We set essential cookies for login and session management, which the site needs in order to work. We set analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only after you accept them, and you can change that choice at any time through Manage cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
9.Changes
If we change how we process your personal data, we will update this notice and, where the change is significant or the law requires it, ask for your consent again.
This notice is not legal advice to you and is not a substitute for the Act or the Rules, which prevail if anything here is inconsistent with them. Nothing in this notice limits any right you have under law.
