This Privacy Policy explains how International Journal Press (“IJ Press”, “we”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you visit ijpress.com, register, submit or review a manuscript, or make a payment. It is consistent with the privacy statement published by each of our journals (for example, jmsah/about/privacy).
1.Information we collect
- Account & identity: name, email, affiliation, country, and (optionally) ORCID, provided when you register as an author, reviewer, or editor.
- Submission data: manuscripts, metadata, co-author details, and editorial correspondence.
- Payment data: when an Article Processing Charge is paid, payment is processed by Razorpay; we receive only limited transaction metadata (payment reference, amount, status). We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
- Communications: emails and support or grievance correspondence.
- Technical & usage data: IP address, browser/device type, and pages visited, gathered through server logs, Cloudflare, and basic analytics.
2.How we use your information
- To operate the editorial workflow — submission, peer review, decisions, production, and publication.
- To process APC payments and any refunds.
- To communicate with you about your submission, account, and our services.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the site and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising profiling.
3.Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our publishing agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating the journals securely, and compliance with the law (including, in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to obligations that require us to retain certain records.
4.Payments & card data (Razorpay)
Online payments are processed by Razorpay, a payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Your card, UPI, net-banking, or wallet details are entered directly on Razorpay’s secure, PCI-DSS-compliant systems — IJ Press never sees, handles, or stores them. Payment data is stored in India in accordance with RBI directions. Razorpay’s own privacy policy also applies to the payment transaction.
5.Sharing your information
We share personal data only as needed to run the service: with Razorpay (payments), Hostinger (hosting and email), Cloudflare (content delivery and security), and Crossref and indexing/abstracting partners (article metadata, which is public by design). Service providers are bound by confidentiality. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell personal data.
6.Data storage, security & retention
The site is served over HTTPS/TLS, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Payment data is localised in India per RBI rules. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and archival obligations. Published article metadata forms part of the permanent scholarly record.
7.Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies for login and session management. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage, such as pages viewed and traffic sources. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects your IP address and browsing activity on this site; this data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting your browser’s cookie settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
8.Your rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by contacting [email protected]. Note that we cannot remove the published Version of Record of an article, but we can issue corrections or retractions in line with COPE guidance.
9.Children
Our services are intended for adult researchers and higher-education professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10.External links
The site links to third-party resources (for example, Crossref, indexing services, and funders). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, identified by the “Last updated” date above, always applies.
12.Contact & Grievance Officer
