International Journal Press operates a transparent and author-friendly refund policy on Article Processing Charges (APCs). Because an APC is charged only after a manuscript is accepted, there is no submission or review fee to refund; this policy covers the APC itself. Refunds are issued promptly under the conditions below and are processed through our payment-gateway partner, Razorpay.
1.Full refund
- Withdrawal before peer review begins. Authors who withdraw a manuscript before reviewers are assigned receive a full APC refund.
- Editorial rejection after APC payment. If an APC is collected and the manuscript is subsequently rejected, the full charge is refunded.
- Duplicate or failed transaction. Any duplicate payment, or a transaction in which funds were deducted without order confirmation, is refunded in full on identification.
2.Partial refund
- Withdrawal during peer review. Authors who withdraw after reviewers have been assigned but before a decision is rendered may receive a 50% refund, recognising the editorial work already performed.
3.No refund
- After acceptance and production. Once a manuscript has been accepted and entered production (copy-editing, typesetting), the APC is non-refundable and publication proceeds.
- After publication. Once the article has been published online with an assigned DOI, no refund is issued.
4.How to request a cancellation or refund
Send a written request to [email protected] with your manuscript ID, the payment reference, and the reason for the request. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and confirm the outcome and, where applicable, the refund timeline.
5.Refund timeline & method
Approved refunds are initiated within 10 working days and returned to the original method of payment via Razorpay. The time for the amount to reflect in your account thereafter depends on your bank or card issuer.
6.Waivers
If cost is a barrier, please review the Waiver Policy, full and partial APC waivers are available for authors from low-income countries and others facing genuine financial hardship, decided independently of the editorial-merit decision.
7.What this policy does not cover
This policy concerns APCs only. It does not cover academic outcomes (such as acceptance, citation, or indexing), which depend on factors outside our control. Requesting a refund never influences the outcome of peer review, and an editorial rejection always voids the APC automatically.
8.Consumer protection & grievances
This policy is offered in keeping with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and applicable RBI Payment Aggregator guidelines. For unresolved payment disputes you may also approach Razorpay through their support channels. To raise a grievance, see the Contact & Grievance page, which names our Grievance Officer and the 48-hour / 30-day response timelines.
