As artificial intelligence (AI) transitions from an experimental novelty to a foundational operational requirement, the legal sector is experiencing a paradigm shift. This paper examines the integration of agentic AI within law firms and corporate legal departments, focusing on developments through 2026. By automating complex workflows and embedding directly into daily practice management tools, AI is fundamentally disrupting traditional law firm economics, precipitating a shift away from the billable hour and toward value-based pricing. Furthermore, the rise of "AI-native" firms utilizing Management Services Organization (MSO) structures is analyzed. Finally, this paper addresses the escalating ethical and regulatory challenges, including the proliferation of AI-generated judicial hallucinations and compliance with the European Union AI Act.
