Dr. Rajendra Kumar is a legal scholar and advocate specialising in the law of emerging technologies, particularly the intersection of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and justice. He is Assistant Professor at the School of Legal Studies, Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow, and has practised as an Advocate and Legal Researcher at the Supreme Court of India, with over five years of combined litigation experience before the Supreme Court and the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad (Lucknow Bench). He also serves as Academic Advisor (AI Law & Governance) at MyEIROS LLC, Tucson, Arizona, U.S.A. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Lucknow (2025), with a doctoral thesis titled “The Interplay of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems and the Law: A Study in Legal Perspective in India”, an LL.M. in Human Rights from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University (A Central Government University), and an LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of Lucknow (A State Government University), and has qualified the UGC-NET for Assistant Professor in Law. His research spans AI governance and ethics, legal-technology regulation, and human rights in the digital age, and includes peer-reviewed articles and international book chapters with publishers such as Bentham Science (SCOPUS-indexed, Netherlands), Taylor & Francis, and REDSHINE (London, UK); his recent work introduces a dual framework distinguishing ‘overt’ and ‘covert’ AI disruptions to the legal profession and the future of work. He also serves as an expert peer reviewer and has developed digital-jurisprudence learning modules, bringing academic rigour and courtroom experience to the study of digital justice and legal innovation.
