Conflict of Interest
IJ Press requires the disclosure of any interest that could be seen to influence the work or its assessment.
- Definition: any financial, personal, or professional relationship, such as funding, employment, consultancies, patents, personal relationships, or competing interests, that could be perceived to bias the work.
- Authors must disclose all funding sources and any competing interests in the manuscript, and state “The authors declare no conflict of interest” where none exists.
- Reviewers must decline to review where a conflict exists and disclose any potential conflict to the Editor.
- Editors recuse themselves from any manuscript in which they have a conflict; such manuscripts are handled independently by another editor.
Undisclosed conflicts discovered later are treated under the Allegation of Misconduct policy.
