Vol. 1 No. 2 (2026): Second Issue

JEIDS - Vol. 1 No. 2 (2026) issue cover

Published on 10 October 2026 as the second issue of the Journal of Engineering Informatics and Data Systems (JEIDS). Three double-blind peer-reviewed articles give the issue a distinctive measurement-and-evaluation character. The first presents a low-cost, high-capacity digital weight measurement system built on Arduino and load cells, evaluated for precision, affordability and sustainability in Industry 5.0 and agricultural settings. The second compares deep neural network architectures for image segmentation, examining optimisation strategies and performance trade-offs across U-Net and autoencoder designs. The third estimates age from facial feature analysis using machine learning, combining Viola-Jones detection, wrinkle-area classification and support vector methods. The issue's speciality is that every paper is assessed against a real deployment constraint — cost, compute or robustness — so the second issue reads as a set of engineering evaluations rather than architectural proposals alone.
